MELANOMA FOCUS
Melanoma is a serious form of cancer that arises when the pigment-producing cells in the skin (melanocytes) may display as a mole or lesion that grows, changes shape, or colour.
Melanoma Focus provides information, guidance and support for patients, carers and healthcare professionals, and have built a community of melanoma specialists who underpin their commitment to melanoma education and research.
We’ve worked with Melanoma Focus for a number of years, having taken over the wonderfully creative work our college friend James Rush started many years ago. Melanoma skin cancer is a growing concern amongst the younger generation and this year, we produced campaigns in both English and Welsh to raise awareness, in the hope that lives could be saved.
Sadly, James died of Melanoma in August 2022, aged just 38. We’re honoured to continue this vital work, in his memory.
